Gañeta Getariako Txakolina 2012 was one of the first txakoli wines I’ve ever tasted and it was also the first bottle I ever bought in Getaria.
I remember being very impressed with the way the barmaid poured the wine into the big glass cup! I was also surprised that every single person in the bar was drinking txakoli – it was the moment I realized txakoli has to be a star in this area ;)
Gañeta is a greeny-straw coloured wine with a lot of small bubbles. In the nose it is fresh and lemony with some leafy and salty notes.
In the mouth the wine is very fresh and light with pronounced acidity. On the palate there are citrus fruit flavours with lots of lime, lemon peel and some grapefruit peel. The wine also shows some grassy flavours with a bitterness from lemon peel and a salty note on medium finish.
