Little Berry 2012 was one of my two favourite wines from Rosemount Estate portfolio. Very fresh and fruity, harmonious and smooth.
Little Berry 2012 is a dark red coloured, vivid wine. The aroma is complex and strong with intense fruit notes (blackberries, blueberries), delicate chocolate note and a hint of sandal wood.
In the mouth Rosemount Estate Little Berry 2012 is dry, smooth, complex and well-balanced. The tannins are integrated, rounded and smooth. Nice full structure and good alcohol strength. On the palate the wine is full of fruits: ripe blackberries, sweet blueberries, distinct dark cherries. Lots of spices with a nice note of black pepper. The finish is long and lingering with bitter spices and blackberries.
The only problem with Little Berry 2012 was its fast oxidation – few hours after opening the bottle I was unable to taste this wine and it was absolutely oxidized and overpowered with alcohol. I opened two bottles and both were the same. Conclusion: if you open Little Berry 2012, don’t leave it till tomorrow ;)
