In the last week the city of Bordeaux really suffered from traffic jams and crowded hotels, especially for three days, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December. All this is due to the exhibition Sifel Vinitech 2014, which took place in Bordeaux during those days. It was my first visit to the show.
During the exhibition you could see everything related to wine production sector, as well as fruits and vegetables growing and production, as the exhibition also included these two sectors.
Apparently it would seem that tractors and other large machines are not interesting for women but I was very interested in all of the machinery. In addition to tractors there were also: presses, spraying machines, machines for harvest, bottling and labeling machines, modern lawn mowers that goes in between the vines, all kinds of items used to build the vineyard and many others, whose pictures I put below.
There were many wooden items: different types of barrels, staves, oak cubes and others used in the wine production process. I found barrels very interesting; especially the wooden parts that build the barrel which were all in patterns . Beautifully lit, showing dozens of different designs were impressive.
Apart from wooden elements during the exhibition there were lots of fermentation tanks, the cooling elements, all kinds of accessories for tanks and even metal barrels and special metal stands that make working in a winery easier.
At the end I want to show some pictures about the most important topics that better suit my marketing madness: the catalogs, the wine gadgets, their methods of promotion, the packaging and other nice-looking products. In addition I found out many of new products that have appeared recently on the market.
We returned home more than three hours later than we should, totally exhausted but richer in experience and knowledge. Another Vinitech in Bordeaux will take place in two years, let’s wait and see what will change in the wine world until then.
I’d like to thank Lionel from OxoLine for the invitation and the champagne tasting!
In tomorrow’s ‘weekly blend’ I will write about wines that I had tasted during the Vinitech 2014. It a unique and very instructive wine tasting, you will see tomorrow why :)
